Default Something fishyyy...

As im selling my car i had an email of someone today. Here's what is said..

Hello,

I'll like to make a purchase on your car listed on the ads,let me know if its still available for sale and your best price? Pictures would be appreciated.

Hope to hear from you soon

Best Regards

Calvin

I was suspicious already due to the way its written...

Here's my response..

Hi, yes car is still available. I'm asking £3200 for it, but if you came to view the car perhaps we could sort out a better deal..

Ryan

To which he replied..

Thanks for your Response

I agree with your price and ready to purchase the car.I will offer
you 3200 pound sterling for the car and about the delivery have
already contacted a pick up agent coming for the collection of the car
once payment has been cleared from your paypal account to your bank

town at moment(On Holiday),my pick up will sign all necessary
documents, including the Log Book when they comes for the collection
for the car and he will do every necessary check up to know if the
condition of the car is the same as you have described it,Kindly

It's a well known scam on Pistonheads, don't bother with any more contact Ryan or tell him/her to p1s$ off and go and try it on with someone else.

I won't go into detail but it's a standard email that 'Calvin' the Nigerian scammer sends out hoping to get some poor sod to fall for, I had it twice when I was selling my S202 and told them to go to hell or somewhere similar.

Righto, tell him that you would only accept £ sterling on collection from the pick up agent .

But really just tell him to take a trip up the swanney without a paddle.

I've seen quite a few posts like this on scoobynet now, they pay you via pay pal, the cars gets collected, the next day you get asked "where's my car?" and before you know it the money has been reversed back out of your account.
