Are driving it or on stop. They don't create boost until on the move.

Cant imagine just disconnecting the battery effecting the ECU that much....
Sure u havent knocked any pipes off or anything whilst doing the battery??

Is it defo not making boost?? car slow? not just a problem with the boost gauge??

Check with the previous owner buddy! Sounds like the ECU or boost controller (if fitted) is doing something weird!

Is the gauge reading Vaccum at idle??

Strange to not boost at all, generally ECU's (no expereince of autotronics though) only really control the boost above actuator pressure so should still make 0.7bar ish....
Is the car running ok other than no boost?? sound ok? Idle ok??

Done any other work on the car since u last drove it??

The only time i've had boost problems with my scooby's they have still made actutor pressure, apart from when i forgot to re-connect one of the intercooler pipes once and once had the dump valve blow off the intercooler piping....
May be worth checking ur dump valve, check the pipes are all still connected, and it not jammed open...

Hmmm strange...

If u want to confirm its something Electronic and not a piping problem u could connect a piece of vaccum pipe straight from the turbo compressor housing to the actuator, this will take the boost solinoid and ECU out of control of the boost, this will allow the car to make actuator pressure only, normally 0.7bar....
If it makes boost like this i would say defo a problem with the ECU, if i doesn't then u have a problem somewhere else....

Does sound like an airleak if it's running rich as well. Did you remove any intake pipework? cheack for leaks/ splits after the MAF and before turbo or inbetween turbo and intake manifold. (DV stuck open would also give this symptom) 0.5ish vacuum at idle is correct.

You will get oil in the IC system.

Is the car pulling when you put your foot down or is the gauge just not working?

Check then dump valve. There is a rubber type valve, maybe that's split. Never had this and I have had 3 different batteries on there.

Just as a matter of course / you've never to lose I would disconnect the battery overnight to reset the ECU (assuming it doesn't have it's own internal battery backup), you may have inadvertently put the ECU into some form of safe mode.

It may be that the disconnecting/reconnecting the battery has caused a temporary electrical 'glitch', failing that you may have blown a circuit inside the ECU motherboard/processor.

I'd put a question up in technical for one of the mappers to try and answer, it seems odd that disconnecting the battery has given you a boost issue and all the hoses are fine.

Yes i agree with that i think its something to do with the ECU, I now all hoses are fine.... Hope there is no damage to the ECU

I reckon the diaphragm in the dump valve has gone. It's a Hks one and has the thin rubber one. Whip the topnoff and check it. Check the fittings on the front mount they were looking tired. Can see it being battery related as it's been on and off more times than I care to count.

I can't see that being the case. Have you been running the anti lag for long bursts?

i had mine mapped last week with bob rawle and it was amazing..1.5 bar
drove it twice in the same week and then went out 3rd time and boost has gone!!!! struggling to .9 bar
spoke to bob and tried everything as suggested above, checked pipes, battery off, dv, actuator but still nothing, then went around a roundabout earlier and it came back to 1.5bar for 1 gear change and gone again!
