My zen bug is for sale :(
After a lot of soul searching, I've finally decided to put my bugeye up for sale.

I would love it to go to a good home, so if you know anyone after a nice car, you know where I am. Thanks guys.

As you know my work takes me to various parts of the uk for months on end. While my bug is a great car, I can't help feeling that it's not being used as it should. It's a shame to see my car stack up the miles commuting up the M4 every week. I've been pondering selling for months and months Rich and to be honest, I still don't know if I'm doing the right thing. All I do know is that if it doesn't sell then the worst that can happen is I'll keep it & that's no bad thing
There maybe someone out there that can see what a good car it is and will be able to keep it safe and use it for pleasure at weekends and meets etc. Let's see what happens mate.

I know when I saw you on Saturday you were considering selling it but I thought you were just thinking out aloud.
It's a nice car and someone will get a real bargain, good luck with the sale and don't be a stranger.
Be a shame to lose a Neeef caveman after all.

Thanks for the +ve comments guys.
I would keep my bug as a second car but I've already got a Honda CRX track day car that's in the garage awaiting work (roll cage & welding). Truth is, I've enjoyed Subaru ownership so much that I've lost interest in the CRX. I have to get the CRX back on track as that's something I have too do before I'm too old. I've spend a small fortune on that as well and while I could break it, there's too many hrs of my time gone into it to do that. I cannot take my bug in track as it's too nice a car to be a track day hero. I've also just got a car for my 18 year old so I need to reduce the size of my fleet .
It's the common sense thing to do unfortunately.
The CRX

Dylan is referring to an incident where I (and others eh Dyl) thought a repetitive squeak coming from my PS Pump was a duff bearing (not a screech like a loose belt though). In short, I changed the pump twice before narrowing down the fault to the belt (which was a relatively new Dayco belt). Imagine my delight at finally solving the problem with a new Gates belt and realising I'd spent £120 on two second hand PS Pumps for no reason. Gotta laugh.
Look out in the parts section shortly for 2x ps pumps Oh yesss indeedy.

Notfub,
Mervil has a good point about getting a cheap runaround.
A couple of years ago there were at least three of us on here who all ran 106 diesels aswell as our scoobs.
Merv was one IIRC plus turbodean and Me.
It is actually cheaper to buy, tax, MOT insure and put diesel in a 106 than it is to run and rely on a scooby full time.
I bought a 406 diesel in 2009 (gone now) for 600 quid and it was bullet proof. went for hundreds upon hundreds of miles between fill ups and Went like hot **** too.
Its only a matter of time before I do it again and keep the scoob for sunday best.
I would seriously look into doing this before selling. Just my humble opinion.

Good news then Dean , I'm glad you managed to sell your car but when I sold the S202 I had mixed feelings as I saw it drive off, and TBH I'm still not convinced even now that I did the right thing.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Ty, I do have mixed feelings to be honest, especially as I don't really know what I want to get next.
Whatever I get, I'm still going to gatecrash some of the Swansea meets because I've met some great people through Subaru ownership. Besides, I've just bought an SWS hoody and have to get some use out of it
