Thanks for the replies and pdf file.

But I was looking more for the actual route to decide the best place for taking pics etc.

I knew I'd made a boo boo with date as soon as I uploaded, hence the edit of the date when it was too late.

thanks

Question Which Stages to attend and which location ?

Which are the best stages to attend at the Wyedean this year? I'd prefer to attend the stages later in the day if possible, like Mailscot, Serridge2 and Sallowvallets but if there is a very good stage early on, I might be able to make that.

What are the best car parks to use to find the right viewing location. I haven't attended the Wyedean before, therefore I've got no knowledge of the event.

Also, if anyone's got maps for this year or from previous years, please could u post them.

Thanks

I can't rate the stages for you, but I'll be starting at Chepstow racecourse at 11am for stage 4 (see it all from the grandstands) followed by service. Then to the forest for 5,6, and 7. A big choice of car parks, but all pretty close together really.

The specpark pdf gives quite a bit of detail eg:
------
CAR PARK H – SPECULATION – MR 162 / 612 134 ALONGSIDE THE B4234 BETWEEN
CANNOP CROSS ROADS AND THE A4136. GIVES ACCESS TO FIRST PART OF STAGES 2
& 6. FAST STRAIGHT SECTION AFTER UPHILL HAIRPIN LEFT.
-------

It seems the pdf is no longer servered for some reason:

----------
Not Found

The requested URL /specpark.pdf was not found on this server.
----------

But lucky for me I saved a copy. So if you need it, PM me with your email addy if you like.

Phil

P.S. Dylan - shame you can't make it, but good luck with the engine build. P

I can't see a stage map pdf on the site, but if Ian has it ^ you should be ok...?

To anybody skimming down this thread:
The Wydean rally is on Saturday 12th Feb (not the 19th as in the thread title).

Although I made a boo boo with the date on the Heading.

Both Matt and I had a great day and he will post some pics later from the Dean.

Seen a MKII do a tumble through the bushes and badly bent, but main thing the Driver and Co got out OK with very minor injuries.

Thanks

If it was on Serridge 2 I was also there , I thought it had hit some spectators , it certainly was a very close shave !

Was an exciting bend with quite a few moments

Good fun, and a nice day for a change!

Didn't get to see that much of it cos I took a pal who is very ill and can't get very far! But it was great all the same

Its a shame the Peugot / Cosworth is outlawed for next year though. That thing sounds like a F1 car

That's what thought, sounding like a F1. Sounds very much like the old Lancia Stratos too.

I believe they are changing from the current championship to the BTRDA, where they can still run.

Hopefully

Cool, did you see the two Metro 6R4s following each other round?
