IMHO I wouldn't bother with coilovers. Quite a few people have gone back to uprated springs and shocks.

Coilovers are amazing, Mine ride loads better than standard.. But you get what you pay for.. EXE TC's all the way.. 40 presets.. More than welcome to have a spin in mine when i get it working.

Including me, the best handling I have found with uprated STi shock absorbers and Prodrive lowerring springs, plus of course a proper steering geometry alignment.

What he said ^^^^^^^^

The best thing I did for my Spec C was take off the Apex/BC coilovers and fit some 'proper' suspension, UK roads are too uneven and pot holed for coilovers, they are not as compliant as shock absorbers and can ruin the ride quality.

The only place I think they belong is in the bin or on a track car.

I think they can be made to fit with some modifications but you are probably better off looking for the suspension of a classic STi RA, having driven one with standard suspension they stick to the road like poo to a blanket.

EXE TC's are by far in a differnt league to most coilover kits. They cant be compared to most stuff out there. If i soften mine it's like driving a nice BM or likewise. Turn them the otherway they make an awesome track weapon.. I'm sorry but there in a different league to STI suspension and other coilover sets like BC and others like them..

Yes there expensive but you get what u pay for.. Cheapest option though is uprate the existing suspension. Depends what your looking for..

How are you finding them? The last thing I want is to spend a grand turning my car into something I don't enjoy driving as the suspension is crashy!!

They cost me £700 with the springs. No problems with ride etc. They are set at position 1 all round due to potholes and our quality repair system. I have wound them down to 6 in the summer for some enthusiastic driving

Exe-tec eventhough expensive are by far the best coilover I've experienced, but they are not producing road kits anymore and are concentrating on motorsport items instead. Intrax who manufactured the kits for Exe-tec are launching a similar kit soon but I'm unsure whether these will also be stainless steel.

Sadly all good quality coilovers such as Ohlns, KW, Nitron, Intrax, Reiger and Exe-tec are costly, but will transfrom the handling and comfort of your car by miles compared to standard Sti suspension and Jap crap no travel smooth circuit specials.
