Default Bonnet release ?

Bugger of Buggers ! just been to check the oil and the release catch in the car seemed a bit "wishy washy" on pulling it, it did release the bonnet catch but now it won't close (lock down so to speak) bonnet is now slightly open, anyone got an idea or would it be a new cable ???

I'll give that a go to-morrow, Cheers the release catch in the dash seems to come all the way back when pulled and the cable has still got some tension I think !

The safety catch seems OK, that's all I got at the mo !!!

It sounds like the cable has stretched and probably ready to snap, if you are going to lube the cable/mechanism I wouldn't use WD40 - get hold of some spray grease as WD40 will quickly disappear as it's more of a releasing/cleaning spray.

Just sounds like the cable is stuck in the open position Si. Like Ty said a bit of spray grease and you should be fine

Cheers Ty = I'll have a good look to-morrow, hope it's sortable - otherwise it's a new cable I guess (Dylan will like that LOL)

Well it seems OK now, soaked it in oil for a couple of hours, pushed the mechanism with a flathead a few times let it soak some more, and put some grease on there, bonnet shut and locked OK Too scared to open it again now !!!!!!! LOL
