Default any one know this car?

Good morning all

Hope every ones doing ok? Thought id run something past you guys see what people think. I was in the Gowerton mitsibishi dealer yesterday and i saw what was listed as a 52 plate bug eye wrx in the rally blue with 52k on the clock. while the car has a WRX badge on the bootlid and there was a distinct lack of brembo's under the after market PPF7's. This is where the similarity to the WRX ends. The car has a full STI interior, including the sti plate in the dash, it even has STI clocks or at least the clock facia with the sti emblem on it. From what you can see it also says STI on the top mount. Black headlights exactly like the UK300 have also been fitted.

So could this be an actual STi or has someone just spent a lot of money on the bits to make their WRX look like a STi?

I must admit my interest on the car is waning now as i like unmolested examples of cars and this seems far from it, also if sti clocks have been transplanted i suppose you canat say what it its real millage is.

cheers for you opinions guys

Ian

Agree with Chris. The other way to tell is if its got a six speed but if it's a WRX with a six speed he/she as gone to town. Or sold their Brembo's.

6 speed would be the easiest way to tell or to check the model code

Is it Six Speed? Does it have DCCD? Does it have a Red inlet Manifold??

Like Danny said the best way to be sure is check the model code...

But i'd say it's more than likely a WRX! Cant see any reason why someone would remove the brembo's from an STI, unless its something like a Jap Motorsport edition that didn't come with Brembo's, unlikely though...

Definately sounds like a WRX with a lot spent on it apart from the Brembos. Have you rang them to ask?
Looks like a WRX to me.

No red stitching on the steering wheel and gear gaiter, recon ho ha!

At least they are not selling it as an STi.

Cheers for all the advice guys

it did strike me as a weird mix of bits. ive been looking at cars again and its either gonna be a scoob or a Type R but i really havent seen an example yet of either to catch my eye (P1's seem to be silly money if their even to be found in a garage ). I saw this scoob while looking at a black civic type R.

back to scanning auto trader

cheers again

Ian

Just went on their website and i got to admit they do have some very tasty looking type r's. One White V6 and a Cool Grey V5 do take my eye but like you say hell of a drive to go see one, shame really but always an option
