Default VOSA/Police - Big op in Cardiff

Just been to TESCO on Western Avenue and there are **** loads of Police/VOSA/DoT doing stop checks/tank dipping etc.

What a joy to see a lowloader full of impounded cars. People will say that motorists are an easy target but lets get the uninsured/knobend chip fat user getting done.

Hurrah!

totally agree,

I spend a fortune keeping the car in good running order and legal when it comes to documents (MOT/TAX/Insurance) about time they had a proper crack down and sent some of these uninsured death traps to the crusher

I totally agree aswell Ian.

I am more than happy for the Plod to pull me than to see them sat behind a camera in a bloody van.

It is extremely satisfying knowing they are getting the untaxed, uninsured unMOT'D menaces of the road.

We pay an arm and a leg to keep our cars legal and on top have to pay extra to keep these chumps going to.

I felt like I just had a little rant then

They should be doing it more often IMO! I wonder if they are doing spot checks for loud exhausts/decats

Chap in the office just got tugged over coming out of Halfords. They gave the car a good looking over (and under), checked all his docs, etc.

i agree these cars need to be off the road but to put a bit of spin on it, i dont agree with unisured drivers but what about the poor student who has just passed driving test and having to pay £2k + for his her insurance i think its daylight robbery i mean when i passed (many years ago) i had a triamph acclaim and was paying £800 a year and it was hard to find amagine having to find £2/3k plus money for a car and fuel it its mental. dont get me wrong im not condoning it but the government and all these companies need to be held responsible because some of these problems are there fault.my rant over now. carry on.

Insurance premiums are just crazy now. I pay just over 850 a year on my scoob and have full ncd too.

You would think insurers would take a better view of those of us who never claim.

The problems for young drivers are the statistics. 17 - 25 year old are the most likely to have a crump. One arm driving, slammed Saxo/Clio/Festa with the sterring geometry of a Relaint Robin, four up speeding, no seat belts and of course the music so loud you can't possibly hear any other car horns being beepped.

F**k I sound like PS Lewis, but you know what I mean................bahhhh humbug.

You forgot to mention that apart from the one arm driving there is also the driver's 45 degree lean to his door with the right side of the jaw nearly resting by the B pillar.

Its almost as if they are saying that they are so good at driving the car they bearly need to be sat near the wheel

Still we were all kids once.

Not sure if anyone at the meet noticed last night but some contractors have been fitting small poll mounted cameras on the A48 to M4 link road with rather large yellow data logging boxes chained to the barriers.

I've noticed a few more on the local roads on the way home today - anyone know what they are?

I think they are purely data logging, traffic flow, peak times and low times. Probably a prelude to TUVELO/Gatso or SPECS.
