Nice to hear that it all ended well for you.

Are you on a 'running in' map? Good choice with the ECU, did you go for the anti-lag and launch control options as well?

what year car you got ? i would do a few mods first like exhaust / turbo /air filter /fuel pump / intercooler etc... then map depending on the year of your car as if you got early classic you would need a different ecu something like a apexi power fc

if your not going to mod far and just exhaust and filter just reset ecu

I got 2007 STI with a PPP, i have an after market exhaust on it, was told by a certain jap tuner in our area that the prodrive map was not up th much...! and after fitting the filter it would need mapping.. said i was looking at about £600 seemed bit steep to me..

had 2 cars mapped before, my previous subaru and my S3.

That's what puts my off, I have the PPP pack, and it would cost me £600, £400 for the licence and £200 for the remap..

Mind you once you paid the £400 you don't have to pay again, but it's just a lot to stump up the first time

I wouldn't fit an induction kit to it.

decat and remap should see 360bhp and 380lb.. induction kit will gain you very little.

remapped without the decat on the ppp should see 340~350bhp and 370lb roughly.

Sorry to hijack...Simon, you say about an induction kit, can u fit an induction kit to a PPP car without a remap, I tried one on my 2004 STi and it was fine in the winter but put the management light on come the summer when the weather got warmer, apparently running too lean when doing a steady 50mph or slowish speeds.

most definitly not no.. it will alter the maf voltage which the ecu uses to calculate load and air consumption and therefore how much fuel to inject and how much ignition advance to run.. you could well damage the engine.
