Default here we go again

drove to work this morning and the scoob started to miss and splutter AGAIN (i only had it back just over a week ago) one of the guys from the garage came to collect it and as i followed him in a courtesy car every time he changed gear there was black smoke coming out of the exhaust to say i am pissed of would be an understatement

Scott,

Firstly, did you get the plugs/leads changed when you had the work done?

Secondly, have you worked on the Intercooler or Turbo pipe work?

I left a bolt out of the pipe work on the back of my Intercooler and it would cough, splutter, not rev well and produce black smoke. I shat my pants when it happened.

spoke to the fitters earlier today and the problem was a slipped timing belt caused by the tensioners being worn/weak so new tensioners and it will be fine

sliping timing belt hmmmm i doupt it very much if your timing belt slips more than 1 pss 2 teeth you will have a f**ked engine withing 10 yards theres no way you would be able to drive with a "sliping timing belt"

sounds like they havent done something up or forgot something and dont want to admit it,

thats sounds more like it, but surely a garage would realise that its not a very good excuse to tell someone incase the customer was slightly clued up ?
