If you already have the AP set up and your rota's are worn then the existing bells can be reused as that is the way they are intended for use.
AP themselves offer a disc inspection / referb service.

The current AP 6-pot setup is a Godspeed conversion and even though they've only been on the car for less than a year (IIRC) and there's plenty of meat left on the discs they're fubar'd. I'm getting loads of vibration through the pedal and steering wheel because they're warped.
The guy who's inspected them for me reckons it's because the discs supplied aren't very good quality and because the caliper is so good and provides so much bite, it's basically destroyed the surface of the discs (and as a result, the pads too). So in short, the discs aren't up to the job
Apparently I'll also need new bells if I want to fit AP discs because the current bells are different - does this sound right.....
To be honest I'm a bit pi55ed off with the car at the moment - my outlay over the next 3 or 4 weeks will be:-
- repair of rear differential = £800+ (not yet done)
- replace gearbox oil = £100
- new front discs, bells and pads = £600+ (not yet done)
- car tax = £400 (due end of July)
Wish I'd kept the wrx to be honest (although that also cost me £1600 having the gearbox repaired 4 months after I bought it) ......

The guy who told you that about the discs is talking out of his backside , I've sold thousands of discs , if there was a problem with them it would have shown up before yours as I have been selling them for nearly 20 years !
It could be a number of things causing shaking , from pad deposits , untrue hubs , ect , if the discs are less than 12 months old they are covered under my guarantee , so bring them back for me to sort out.
Godspeed discs are capable of taking anything you throw at them , they have done loads of track and stage mileage as well as thousands of road miles.
I'll expect you this week
Cheers Ian

Cheers for the words of support guys, just finding it difficult to watch a big chunk of my savings go out of the window.....
