Default Black Mountains Pass

I cant believe that Ive lived in my house for 4 years, and have only just realised this is less than 20 mins away! Its simply incredible...

Black Mountain Pass (Top Gear) - SR - Driving Roads - Driving Roads

Lovely hairpins, plenty of twisties and a few suicidal sheep for good measure! I was so impressed that I came home, had lunch and then went back up there to play some more!

What are the chances of seeing 8 black wagons up there too!

Makes a change from seeing you going sideways around that hairpin, it is a cracking road and one of the best in South Wales.

Mind you I have been on a better road recently but it is a little further afield.

No problem for me I am up for it but it is a 3-4 hour drive to get there but what a great series of roads make up the evo triangle in North Wales.

Plus a unmarked road that it called the twin lakes road, it is a like a short rally stage, be careful of the sheep and the dips and turns but is a really good test of the car/driver.

I can second that, the fast forest section is also one of my favorites!
Here's part one of the 16mins of footage I managed to get. You'll have to excuse some of the quality as it started raining. YouTube - North Wales Run 1

Might stretch the RB's legs up there this weekend!

Like the video footage, the nock at the end just as you went on the grass sounded a bit heavy. Hope no damage was done.

Not sure what made that knock noise but there was no damage.

Vid 2 has been upload and can be found here:

YouTube - North Wales Run 2

Managed to include some random footage on the end though

Just a thought, but since the Elan Valley run is coming up soon it could be a good idea to take in this road on the way, its not a million miles out of our way

Thats a top idea! Straight across the pass into Llangaddog before hanging a right to Llandovery, what a day out its going to be!

Pity I missed that , but it is a cracking road and on the way up to the Big Welsh Meet there is another cracking road between Beulah and Newbridge on Wye.

Haven't seen your name down for the meet Jarvis, are you going?
