New Toy
Picked this up for bargin today,
MY93 WRX RA in white with no rear spoiler!!!
Needs some tarting up:
Face lift front end as not really a fan of the earlier style, plus bumper has some scratches
New rear bumper (again scratched)
New turbo (Current one is blown)
Seems to have a slight electrical fault (Think it's the aftermarket Cebie fog lights)
Not that keen on the earlier dash, I'll see if I can change this over to later version 4-6 one.
Roll cage (May go the whoole hog and go full weld in)
Seats (Proberly sparco Buckets seats)
FMIC (Hybrid one, I'll get the pipes powder coated this time)
Oil Cooler
Brakes (may use the porsche 6 pots or the K sport set up already have)
Wheels (may use the 18" PFF7 or the works I already have depending on which brakes I go for)
Different Exhaust (May go a track friendly one instead of loud this time)
Bigger injectors
Remap/replacement ECU, depends what comes up at the right price
This is going to be a summer project as time and money become avilable. I may end robbing a few parts of my current car

Nice one Dan, the bug looks to be catching. Who's next then ?
For time wise in getting it ready, think of a number and double it, this is what I've realised and probably John as well, this should then be enough to get it fully working properly.
Keep us updated.

NOT as cheap as Daz's,
£1475 was paid, Not bad really, it runs spot on apart from the turbo
The boot lid is not for sale or swap considering the boot is Alloy instead of steal and weighs next to nothing, The guy was offered £350 if he wanted to sell it, which he didn't

Your correct, closed deck block with under piston oil squirters. It also has the same gearing as all the type RA's but matched up to 4.1 ratio diffs which were altered in 1995. This results in the shortest gearing of all the type RA's ever made with a top speed of 120 mph delimited. So weighing 1170 kgs with only 240 bhp the car accelerates really well but suffer badly from turbo lag on the original map. But between 5000 - 7000 rpm these things fly.

I've had a chance to have a really good look at her now, Very happy with the purchase. I've a stack of invoice's that he gave me, 4 new tyres on a set of sti 4 16" rims and apart from the cebie lights (Which are coming off) she is completly standard and always run with octane booster as never remapped/ECU chipped.
Still has the limiter and reads in KM's!!!!
The gear box is correct but he had a longer 5th gear fitted from a WRX so should be better for any long journeys.
Just accepted an offer the house, so I should be able to push on with this a fare bit in couple of months.

I think I'm going to go for black wheels, but saying that I did see a white one with white wheels today on the motorway which looked stunning, but I can't be arsed to clean them
The Blue one has been a trusty old girl, it's taken some abuse and never lets me down 125K now and still going strong at 320BHP. apart from the rust on the roof she's in pretty good condition, She may be up for sale once the house is finished when I've got the time to go and look at stuff
