NEW SCOOB AT NEC!!!!

Just like to say I saw it yesterday and the one in the picture above was different to all the other models at the show. The one pictured above had different sills which sit lower to the ground, it was also fitted with a different gearshift. The additional bits make it look a lot better and more agressive than the entry level WRX - are these ProDrive Extras ?
You forgot to mention that the new WRC car based on the new WRX was also at the show and I must say that looked the business.

Saw not just 1 but 2 of the new shape Impreza Turbos in quick succession on the road this morning!
A Black 4 door and a Red 5 door were both heading South on the M90 around 9:00 am this morning, as I was heading North.
The local dealer doesn't expect any until November! Could these be press cars connected with the Motor Show?
Although the closing speed was fairly high (!), I must say that the Black 4 door looked quite good on its way past. I may just have reconsider my views when I see it in the flesh and have a chance to drive it !
Does anyone know if there are any around locally that we can have a look at?
Regards,
Ian

the wheels certainly look good. although they look a bit small to fill those arches ?
hoping to get to the show as really want to take a look at it in the flesh.
my dealer is not even expecting his demo car til late next month so i'd be surprised to see many around to look at yet.

well, maybe it's just that I'm becoming more failiar witht he damn thing, but I think that I actually now like the look of the new front end. The first photos in the car mags were often taken so close that it makes the bug eyes look really 'orrid. However, I think that the pictures around now, particularly with the new lights look a lot better.
Bell & Colvill sent me a letter to try to tempt. Given the generally poor reception the thing has got - has anyone who has placed an order asked for a <gasp> discount???

well i dont know about a discount but i think in the current car climate subaru have a cheek to increase the price on the car.
i know its got 17" wheels, semi automatic air con (just wot is semi automatic ?), a cd changer, improved handling and better interior but i still think it should have not increased at all, esp given the prices of 2nd hand scoobs both at dealers (from threads on here) and private sales.
guy down the road has had one on order for a few months from same dealer mine came from so i'll be interested to see if he actually buys it - he's got the optionto refuse it if he dont like it - and if he pays full price ?
to me, the P1 looks a good bet at the moment if only i could get a decent trade in on a MY00 !

Nice pictures Alan,
On the way back from the exhibition yesterday thanks to David at Lavender Hill garage we were imformed that I.M WILL be importing a 280bhp version .And it will be availiable from Jan 2002.
The new version does have a better feel to it in terms of the interior build quality.
They also now have a long list of option which can be ordered at the dealer including spoilers ,exhaust and a very nice looking carbon fibre trim finish, which was fitted to the inside of the car pictures above.

I'm sure it will be a great car! - It might even look cool once somebody in aftermarket works out a replacement for those front headlights!
- See TopGear tonight? Vicki ?.... Ahhhhh..... Vicki........
Oh, er...., yes, I mean Vicki having driven the car and sworn to secrecy!

OH MY GOD!!!
Saw it in the flesh (metal) at the NEC today.
Guarantee it has a facelift within 12 months!
This is obviously some horrific genetic experiment between a Scooby, a Seat (the back), a Corolla (the front) and a left over roll of imitation carbon fibre (the inside).
Hope the designers at Subaru stop taking whatever illegal substances they are are on cuurently, before I'm in the market for a replacement!

I haven't seen it in the flesh yet but with all the pics i've seen, I think it is going to be alot better than people expect.
Can't believe you like those wheels though- they look awful. It needs some gold SuperT's on and you might be talking

Just picked up my new WRX today........
Never had one before but its real quick and a totally spastic car. All you non-believers..go try it and then see what you think.
Oh..and that look will be around for at least 3 years possibly more going on track record so far.
**** HOT CAR

Having seen the car I agree it looks better than expected but as Yex says its got three grands worth of extras on it. Without these it looks a lot different. Also £100 for a plastic, imitation carbon fibre gear ****. Surely they must be taking the mick here.

OK its got 3K worth of kit on it but its really those front and rear lower bumper extension thiniges that seem to make a big difference. They really should have these as standard as they look so much better.
Does anyone know of any dealers that have sold any yet ??

Well, er, just back from the motorshow, hmmmm, well, it looks a LOT better in the flesh than in the pictures, but is still FUGLY the WRC car looks MUCH better than the road car, spent a considerable time in the hospitality explaining my reasons fro not liking it, mainly the headlights, orange side thingies (whatever the heck they are supposed to be), tail lights and rear wing, and the man from IM seemed very interested in my opinion, it obviously wont have any effect on the car, but i felt better fro saying it I will still probably have a test drive and see how i feel after that.
Oh the wheels are Legacy wheels, i couldnt understand why the gold ones were a 700 pound option, a tin of spray paint doesnt cost that much !!!!!
Did anybody else notice a LOT of cars had been driven into an ugly stick at very high speed at the motorshow, yuck never seen so many FUGLY cars in one place before !
