Got bored and did a bit of sorting out.
Last weekend I decided it was a great weekend to do some cosmetic stuff on the car.
It's got loads of Whiteline undercarriage but the rear ARB was looking a bit, well fooked! I thought it would be easy enough to whip it off. Clean it up and get it back on.
How wrong I was
The ARB must have been on there for a while because it looked pretty bad. Getting the retaining brackets off was easy but the links where a bit more difficult. Leave the barckets on before you do the links. You cannot jack up the car as this stresses the ARB, so not having a pit or ramps I had to squeeze under the back end. The nearside link is awkward as the exhaust gets in the way but there is no way that was coming off. After much WD40, it was still tighter than Si's wallet, leaving most of my knuckles on the ARB and links it was off but the retaining nut was not too good and the spanner was fecked.
Offside was piece of wee wee.
The bar was pretty poor.
So after much vigor with Nitro Mors, the mouse sander, a couple of coats of Hammerite Primer and a stop for a few bevvies to let Primer to dry on went the Silver Hammerite Rollable for the ARB and Black Satin for the Brackets
It sounds easy but was a pain as you can see from the spanner. The rubbers where in top condition and I know know it's the 22mm Adjsutable ARB.
Voila!
The only issue is the nuts are a bit ropey but B&Q, Homebase or Halfrauds could not help. They are OK at the mo but they'll get changed soon.
