Getting married is bad for you
Havent been about in a while due to build up to my wedding at end of August and then honeymoon in Crete - but that wasnt the end of events for me as I at some point contracted Viral Meningitis.
Got ill one day on honeymoon - woke up in night with pins and needles all over my body and then proceeded to be sick and have extremely painful headaches for whole day - but i thought it was a 24hr bug as i shook it off and enjoyed rest of honeymoon without any problems. However 2 days after coming back i was at my local GP with killer headaches and sickness to be told it was due to the stress of the wedding etc and gave me some tablets.
Cue the next morning im rushed into hospital via an ambulance with splitting headaches and vomiting - i didnt know who i was or who the wife was ( ) and when the docs were asking me questions like what year it was etc i could only answer with "pins and needles".
Fair play to the docs they did their stuff and got my head scanned, chest x-ray'd and then a lumbar puncture ( ) and had me on a viral drip and stuffing anti-bacterial drugs into my veins.
They picked up a blood infection and the lumbar puncture had picked up white blood cells in the bit around my brain which apparently indicates infection and so i stayed in hospital for a week on these drips and anti-biotics. Came out last Thursday and have been recovering at home ever since.
Not a nice experience! i have to wait and see what side effects - if any - i have as there shouldnt be any lasting ones but the worse headaches you have the more damage you could have suffered so i have to wait and see. Since then recovery is slow as headaches take time to calm down and your body is spent from fighting the virus, i have 2 weeks off work now as per docs orders.
Cracking start to married life though
And the worst thing? Havent drove the scooby properly in over 3 weeks
