Default My STI V5 Back From API + New alloys and Gauges

Well, as some of you know i only had this car for 10 days and it went pop. Well after waiting patiently for 5 weeks i finally got the car back on saturday. It's so nice to have the car back and i'm loving it all over again, this time safe in the knowledge that everything is 100% fine Cant fault API, they've done a cracking job and i can't wait to get the 1600 miles done to run the engine in, then i can really start to enjoy it again.

After i picked up my car from API i popped 5 minutes down the road to Midland wheels and picked myself up some 18" Inovit Tarmacs in gunmetal grey fitted with some Yoko Parada's. I had these on my white scooby and thought they looked good so it was the only choice for me

While the car was in for the rebuild i had joined the group buy on scoobynet for the prostep gauges, what a fantastic bit of kit, fairly easy to fit ant IMHO just as good as defi's but at £80 for the 3 i was laughing

Well here's the pics of how she looks now, hope you guys approve

Really good Kev, nice and smooth, no idle issue, runs just like it supposed to. only thing that it does have is noisy piston slap on start up, it's had forged pistons and been told this is common? I'm also expecting that it will get quieter once run in?

All in all though it's running fine, just cant wait to get the 1600 miles on it racked up so i can open her up a bit more.

Looks fantastic! I was speaking to your mate Stu about your car the other day, glad you've got it back and are keeping it.

How did you secure your pod to the dash? I've got the same kit from the group buy and got no instructions with the scoobyparts pod.

Cheers,
Dean

I used a really strong/thick double sided tape on mine. You need some mussels to pull it off again.

the wheels look good against the silver paintwork. I'm not keen on the red flaps though.

Agree, reckon some black one's would look good or some splash guards (not everyone's cup of tea though).

They are awesome mate, I've had a set of the cheaper ones which are good and worth the money but these are in another leauge, They are so fast to react it is unbelievable, the record function is usefull, as is the peak values and the alarm function is usefull also, Plus they look the business.

A-ha, the double sided sticky tape to the rescue, thanks for the tips .

I quite like the red mudflaps, a brave choice but I like it. Also like the Defi's too but as I've just got my Impreza I'm trying not to spend spend spend.

Was going to change the flaps to black when i had the gold wheels, but since changing to the gun metal alloys i think the red flaps breaks it up nicely, so they will be staying
