Question GOOD DEAL???????

Been offered a new engine for my car today really tempted but not sure if its a good deal or not.
Its an engine out of a P1 which comes complete with a vf34 turbo and intercooler. Engine is currently with a subaru specialist. He is asking £2000 for it.

Sounds not to bad, i'd try and get him down to about £1500 though, and check it defo is a VF34 (thats worth about £450-500 on it's own) but P1's came with VF28's (which only go for about £200-250)
The P1/STI5 Heads are worth about £500 on the own.

BTW i've got a Bottom end for sale out of my car, 67K with FSH, only removed to upgrade to a 2.5

Ok quick update on things. I've been offered 2 full bottom ends from guys on here But now im really confused,im still tempted by this P1 engine, however i was told by Dave Coe (local subaru specialist) that it would be fine to fit to my car but today was told by Promax (local rally specialists) that it wouldnt fit because the wireing is different. Any ideas

It won't be a straight fit, the wiring loom will be different on your due to different coil pack and MAF set-up and the ECU loom is different.
It would fit i would of thought, but the best way to do it would probably be to fit a 99/00 wiring loom and ECU.

Didnt realise you were one of the lads from here, i would have came to say hello. I only noticed your profile name on the list after i got back. I had to shoot off early just as it was getting good too, gutted. Its bloody hard work though isnt it, some of the PH lads drive the wheels off those cars!!

Your telling me,trying to keep up with a 911 twin turbo with a relitively standard scoob was a bit exciting in some places.

That thing was quick, but i was supprised at how well the scoob did against it. Mine was standard on the day too (227bhp) so i was expecting to be left for dead at every straight piece of road but it wasnt pulling away like i thought it would!
I think they are running 415bhp

I love these runs because it shows just how well the whole Impreza package works
