Default subaru engines

Where is the best place to start looking for a new engine, or do you know anyone selling one. thanks

iv just found a wrx sti (2002) engine what kind of power have they got

Not sure that will fit yours being from a newage but if its a uk one then i think 265bhp.

how dont they fit, i thought most subaru engines fit all, sorry to sound thick

You'd get it under the bonnet but I'd imagine it would be fun to marry it with classic running gear and ecu

Try API. Youre looking at circa 3k for a rebuild of your own engine.

I can't tell you why , they just dont, well its not a straight swap anyway
Ring David at API he will tell you why.

You wouldn't be able to use the heads off the new age as they use a different wiring loom, ECU etc

Would you want to use a 2nd hand engine??? I wouldn't, Give David at API a call and get it sorted properly.

You can use the bottom end but not the complete engine, Newage STI's have AVCS (subaru version of VTEC) and your ECU hasn't got the ability to control this.
If you wanted to fit the complete engine you would need to swap the ECU and wiring loom aswell.
If you do go down this route i'll by your old heads off you
