It was Auto Glym degreaser, sprayed on liberally, left to soak for a bit then used a paint brush and just rinsed off with a hose
Will be doing it again next week as I have seen little spots I missed
Then used macguires trim polish

Rinsing the engine off with a hose?? is this safe to do. Bin wanting to clean engine bay for a while but bit unsure about rinsing with hose. Last time i did this was on my old astra and it had problems for the next few week.....cos the electrics got wet i suppose.

I took mine down the local garage with a jet wash. I used freezer bags to cover my induction kit (MAF), alarm and other electrical bits, sprayed on cleaner and scrubed where required with brush, then jet washed the engine, engine was warm.
Took bags off, started engine and left to run for five minutes, sprayed all sensors and electrical bits with WD40, jobs a goodun
