hi all
i am trying to find somewhere that i can lend a wheelchair from for a few months or buy one if the price is right
its for the wife who is recovering from brain surgery following a subarachnoid brain haemorrhage last May
she gets really tired if she has to walk any distance but i would to be able to take her out if only around a few shops just to get her out of the four walls
looking to pay as little as possible as i cant work at the moment because i'm looking after her and the kids and her sick pay has just run out
cheers for any help
richie

Hi Richie,
Sorry to hear about your wife's health. I hope she is finding the strength to get better. I'm surprised your hospital didn’t offer you a wheel chair. Have you asked them? You could ask your local Doctors Surgery if they have one or details of where you can get one.
Most hospitals have an occupational therapist department and they have equipment for patients after operations I'm sure.
It would do your wife the world of good to get out and about without having the strain of walking. Every girl needs some retail therapy!! Get her out in the scooby with the windows down!
Hope she feels stronger soon.

cheers for the kind words cat
retail therapy she does need but 'uncle tony' thinks £179 a week should keep a family of 4 with 3 scoobs to support so maybe thats hoping a bit much
no one in the health service can help unless she is long term disabled which with any luck she wont be
perhaps i'll have to sell one of my(our) legacys
cheers richie

I can't believe the health authority can't help you, I think it's disgusting, don't they want people to get better. Anyway I'm going to ask around to see if anyone I know has one and I would be more than happy to either bring it to you or meet up somewhere.
