The karting was a good laugh, apart from my arms killing me
We must do it again
Highlight for me was Paul 'Shumacher' Morris doing a lovely semi-dougnut
Who's up for it again?

A good day all round me thinks! Esp. the part when people got a little carried away with it all!
Still, if only I hadn't been taken out in the semi.....
Only kiddin Mozza!!
Will see you all at the next one. Or at Llandow if I can make it.
Can't wait for the pic's, I finally get to see my baby looking proud! (Well, proud 'ish considering I was stuck next to two RA's anyway!!!)

Scrappydoo,
That women with the pony tail didn't wipe you out on the bend lol, she did a perfectly good pass. Are you the one I apologised to after that race?? I was bumping you up the back a little as you were slowing down on bits I go faster through. Hope I didn't upset you.
Cheers

I just don't want anyone to think I did it on purpose coz I'm am a placid person and would never do that.
He was laughing when I spoke to him, so he can't of been angry with me.

I ended up side on onto the wall very hard. You know the black and white chequered wall. The marshall saw it but overlooked it. Nevermind tracy just forget about it, it happens , i guess thats just part of the fun . I had a great time though and met some quality peeps.

Just to wind things up even more....
The marshalls did seem to have somewhat selective vision there, and don't seem to do an awful lot when someone is 'bending' the rules shall we say.. Still, it's like Newport said, when it is open to the public it will be difficult to have a true challenge among the scoobynetters!!! Still, if I had been in the same postition I would have put my 'little friend' in the wall as well so that's the way it goes!

I think there were about 7 or 8 at least. Not entirely sure though.
There were an element there who were not interested in clean or even semi-clean racing though. Not sure who but a few others among us had issues with some of them during the day! Still, that is life!
"Life is like a bunch of roses.... You have to be careful of the ******!!"

I think you will find there was 4 people there not known to us.
the young lad who came second is the son of a scoobynetter.
The lad who one person got silly with came with the 3 scoobynetters
from Bristol.
when we where waiting 4 people signed in not with the group
Did enjoy the event karts are bad at the moment but there is some
new chasis on the way according to the owner.
Standard of driving was very good believe me it gets worse.
Ok cheers guys

I notice that twigster said that there may be an event at Llandow. I take it that this is the outdoor circuit which has a large track (850 metres). If so I'd be very interested in an outdoor event
Sorry I wasn't at the Newport event, but I'm not that fussed on indoor events because all you need is to get stuck behind someone who is going slightly slower than you but they won't let you pass(ie keep blocking) and you're race is ruined.
I had a bad experience in a track in Birmingham (Raceway)about a month ago where I was the fastest person on the track, was in the lead, had already lapped 4 people but when it came to the next person they kept blocking (for 6 laps!!!!) - result is I get black flagged because some Sunday afternoon driver I'm lapping won't move over and I'm "pushing them too hard". And this isn't the first time it happened to me either so I've had enough of it for now. The few indoor places I've been to don't have blue(?) flags so theres not a lot you can do about it
I'm hoping that a large outdoor track will have less of this problem(I know it will never be eliminanted).
P.S. being a lightweight helps a lot in Karting - probably the only reason I do OK in fact(I think the lap record in Castle Combe small circuit is held by a 13 yr old!!!!!! - thats what they told us)
In summary, if there is a Llandow event I'm almost certainly up for it.

not nesasaraly<sp?> true about lightwaights doing better but i used to have the fastest lap at cardiff/newport/llandow/and when cardiff run the motorshow karting at the nec in 94. an now im two stone heavyer i didnt even get in the final at newport lol.
in the semi i had a slow kart but managed to keep hold of second place by "blocking" and thought i would get in the final but i was mistaken
apparently i didnt have enough points either???? probably would have if the plonker who took me out from 3rd place to the wall in a split second hadent intervend but there you go,,
as for blocking i dissagree with you its all part of the race it shows the ones who will make a daring tidy move to the plonkers who will put you in the wall to gain a place...
DISCLAIMER "this is not aimed at anybody at all just my 2pence worth"
lol

As for the weigth thing. My boy in the red catsuit and pixie boots who came second in the final is 5' 10" and weighs 12 stone. Yet he holds the second fastest lap ever recorded at Supakart in all ages groups.
He still looks a fat gay boy in his catsuit though

If you said to James fire, he would just say huh.
If you said Pizza Hut he'd be out the door like **** through a goose.
He wants a grand off his Mum and I to do some sort of licence for pro karting in the summer. Ah well I would only have blown it on bits for the Scooby.
