Default ticking

Hi all!!

Got a little issue when I start the car up only when I press the accelerator I have a ticking type of noise? seem to hear it between 1000rpm and 2500rpm. After driving a few miles and parking up for lets say 10-15 mins and then restarting the car the noise has gone but go to start it the next day and its there again. Tried to find out what it could be but could be boost solenoid but in all honesty I'm useless in trying to find out what it could be.

The car drives fine ect but I haven't drove it far since hearing this ticking noise. Would you lot say its okay to drive?? obviously I want to get this problem sorted and will be ringing the guys at the three arches tomorrow.

So if any of you could possibly try shed some light on this for me that would be great touch wood its nothing major!!

Cheers all Greg

Boost control solenoid? They can make an annoying noise which is noticeable at low revs as higher end the rev range your can't hear it over the engine noise.

That's what I'm thinking it could be. Would you say its safe to drive to the garage as it is? I'm not going to be giving it the beans mind. The noise is really annoying and is very noticeable at low revs then the engine noise takes over.

Cheers Ty

They all click to some extent, that's the solenoid you can hear operating - they are easy enough to change yourself.

It's never been as loud as this mind even the misses said that doesn't sound normal where she normally doesn't take much interest in the car

I wouldn't know where to even start with changing things under the bonnet. Being a carpenter if it was made with wood I'm sure I would be fine with it so I'll leave this one with the lads down the arches.

It be okay to drive it there though would it?
