Not ideal really, with the short trips you want a 5w-40. The Fuchs GT1 is a bargain at the moment.

Oilman been meaning to ask what you would recommend which brake fluid to use is best for not getting fade and soft pedal at high temps, looking at your site there seems to be too many, I have crappy halfords 5.1 and don't think its good enough for my driving style and got fade off it.
Your super dot 4 seems my best option could you advise, also link if poss.
Also i use car on normal roads and trackday, and i drive hard.Cheers

Yes, you're right, a super DOT4 is the best option for avoiding boiling. I'm not sure what the specs of the Halfords stuff are, but doubt it's anything close to a super DOT4. Any of the Gulf RFs, Motul RBFs, Millers 300 Plus and Fuchs Pro Race will be a good choice.

Same as above for the brake fluid.

If you want a good oil for the gearbox and diff, the Motul Gear 300, Gulf Competition, Millers CRX and Redline 75w-90NS are ideal. If it's got a DCCD set up, go for the Motul Gear 300.

Yes, it's fine for that, unless you are thrashing it for 4 hours, you'd then really need to go for an ester based oil like the Fuchs Pro S, Millers CFS, Redline, Motul 300v or Gulf Competition.

Hi

A10w-50 is ideal for your car and these are the ones that we stock.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

TheNanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S andCFS are both really good oils, so all are good choices for your car.

Youneed a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff and here are the ones wehave.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90.aspx

Ifyou want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, GulfCompetition, Motul Gear 300, Redline 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are idealfor the gearbox. The Castrol Universal, Motul Motylgear and FuchsGear Syn are all decent alternatives. The Fuchs Syn 5, Motul Gear300/300LS, Millers CRX NT/CRX NT LS, Gulf Competition LS and Redline GL5 areideal for the diff.

Cheers

Got a service due soon. What's the recommended transmission/diff oils? It's a 95 Sti wagon using Castrol 10w 60 engine oil (prefer to stay on the safe side due to age). Mostly 30-40 minute daily commutes. Thanks!
