Rebecca, you cant show someone up, who does care about being beaten on track. Give me a circuit a love and then the red mist comes up, and I'll give it all I've got. (Silverstone)
I was asking because I KNOW there is gonna be a real good mix of cars on track tomorrow.

Just got back - only had about an hour to watch at Donno. Saw Dingy's spin at the hairpin - shame because he'd really had it nicely balanced on the preceeding laps. But was Craig pulling away prior to that?
Craig's car - very fast and very noisy.
Harj's Type R - sounded lovely!
Fire breathing cossie - awesome! The magenta cosssie needed a health warning though - how much cr*p can one car blow out of its exhaust!!
Top hairpin action - either one of the Capri's, or one of the 911s. And those h-u-u-u-u-g-e 911 brakes seemed to stop it like it was hitting a brick wall. Several times I thought, "no way, far too late, he's going to bin it," but somehow it just ripped the speed off with no drama at all.
What was that wierd thing that was really wide at the back, and narrow at the front? Sounded like V8 power and it certainly seemed to accelerate well!
Not too many scoobs around - My wagon, Salsa-King, a 22b an RB5 and 3 on the track.
Hate to say it, but I think as a spectator I enjoyed seeing the eclectic mix of stuff more than I usually enjoy watching the more "pure" scoob track days. Plenty of american muscle cars, porkas, lotuses, cossies, caterhams, MX7s, all kinds of stuff.
Shame I only had an hour to watch!

Yeah what a great day out! the boyz and myslelf thouroughly enjoyed it
The Integra was fun too as today was a pre-run of what I can do with it in anger, the slicks were simply awesome as I got no where near what the car was capable of doing.
Some lovely motors there with some interesting driving habits
Now all set for the Ring

What a fun day...
The laps prior to my spin.... Me and Craig where having a bit of fun....not alot in the lap times really. He let me past and vica versa....
I have more power, he has more grip and Brakes...made it quite entertaining....

I was just thinking of you guys...
The pitlane was getting a bit crowded, so i thought i'd just park down at the bottom of craners.... mmmm...
Having had a think after the event (bit bl**dy late, but hey) - the car was turning in fine but was always running wide. My front tyres had no tread left whatsoever - so basically I had slicks at the front, while the backs still had a 2 -3 mm. I reckon the front was turning in, but the back wasnt.
Warning bells should have gone off at this point, but i was blatting around seeing what would happen.
anyway, harj - you have mail
and a post in general will soon be appearing asking for bodyshop recommendations...

Jon,
Sorry about your car - you're ok which is the main thing I guess, although that doesn't help much does it?
For me it was a bit of a laff, giving the car it's first proper shakedown
Considering it's still not finished, it appears to be "quite" fast
Has highlighted a problem with the suspension though - not up to the job with the STI struts and Eibachs - coilovers will be present at the next trackday.
Also, could do with some slicks - or rather need them!
Only car that went past was an RS500, running supposedly 400hp, running slicks and track suspension. Bloke was obviously a good driver, but his track etiquette was atrocious - he nearly hit me twice trying to dive down the inside under braking, trying to overtake on the apex etc etc - luckily he did the same when RobMac was in with Danny, and out came the black flag.
People like that can just ruin track days - complete t1t, I think is the word.
Apart from that had a bit of a laff with Dingy, was hard to concentrate when all I wanted to watch were his tail out antics - very nice
Had a right laugh on the last session with a friend with a Westfield Magablade - daamn those things handle well - no wheelspin or understeer, just grip grip grip.
Look forward to the next one on thursday week
And the 'Ring

yeah - one of the 911's was a bit of a tool also. On the second lap of the first session, when we're all still nose to tail and pootling along he decided to overtake everybody.
He came past me and the guy I was following in the middle of McLeans, pretty unneccesary. If he'd waited a lap we'd have all started getting strung out a bit more.
Funny old game

thanks
ive done maybe upwards of thirty track events now, and have never come off (either car or bike) - the only damage i've taken was hitting a pigeon at 120....
so, i'm pretty philosophical about it.
The only thing that pisses me off is that thinking about it now, there was something clearly not right about the car, and I was driving all over the place, but i didnt stop and try and work out what was happening.
I'll know next time

Just like to add, Jon sorry I didn't get to meet you before the problem. Maybe next time.
The only cars that gave problems was the RS500 for driving like a muppet, the TURBO porsche, I got well out of his way.
Thanks to the guys in the Ariel Atom. Fun is an understatement. But needs a more bonkers engine in it. Hope the braking wasnt to hard for you.
Craigs is very quick in a straight line, shame it doesn't go around corners that well. Maybe next time he'll have it sorted for next time.
Dingy, funny motor. Hope it gets fixed for the next time I see you on track. I want a ride in it.
Mine is starting to run better, time for a front mount and better suspension me thinks.
Dan
PS. Sorry about sliding it about in cranners Rob.
