Goodwood - Festival of Speed
Is any one on SN going?
i have just ordered the tickets for sunday £40 quid a pop. But it is worth it tho with lots of motorsport action and being able to get up close to the motorcars of yester year and now. what a fab event it is going to be.
Went last year for the first time and it was brilliant, could'nt of which for better motorsport action and the atmosphere was brill
...i only had one prob, the car park was a dust bowl and we went not long after my dad got his new 03 WRX in WR blue, buy the time we left the car was not blue any more, more like a tan colour and for the inside that was just as bad, as the dust/sand got every were. oh well.
Just seen the weather forcast at it look like it is going to be a wet sunday...doh

Goodwood is a real good time. You can get close up and have a good look at the cars and celeb's drivers.Real fun for motor fans young and old. Best motor sport day out of the year. Only wish i was in the U.K. for it, even missed Glasto for it once.

Sorry forgotten how do to do hyperlinks. Also saw Mr Solberg enjoying himself in his 2001(?) car as he donuted and slid up the hill.
Fingers crossed for the weather.

I'll be there on Sunday - black MY01 WRX. This is my 6th FoS - fantastic day out. Get there early otherwise the traffic can be a nightmare and be prepared to wait when you come out in the evening.

I went for the first time last year on a Friday and loved it! A bit of a trek to get there but worth it! It's a bit late now but I would NOT recommend going through Petworth, it's got a narrow one way system and took a good hour to get through.
I remember the car park being a dust bowl and that's just reminded me of the funniest sight of the day. In the morning there were a load of supercars lined up to go on the track. As I walk along them there was a Pagini Zonda, Porsche Carrera GT(!!!), Bentley Continental GT, two Lamborghinis (I'm not spelling those thanks!) and two Ferrari Enzos, one of which was driven by Jay Kay. I was drooling badly by this time. Anyway, later that day I came across Jay Kay's black Enzo parked up on display. It had a thin layer of dust which showed up more on black, then I noticed someone had written 'Jodie was faster!' in it. If you don't know, Jodie Kidd had recently beaten Jay Kays time in a Reasonably Priced Car on Top Gear. I wonder who had written it? I think Mr Clarkson was there that day, hmmmmmmm.
