STI WRX suspension, compared to non-turbo
Hi there,
First time posting on here, and this is my question/conundrum... I have a 2001 (Y Reg) Impreza non-turbo, I really want to increase the handling some what and possibly lower it slightly? (not essential)
I have seen a nice clean set of STI WRX shocks and springs for sale, are they going to make alot of difference compared to my non-turbo suspension? E.g. are they lowered, stiffer, etc?
Had a look through the search results and couldnt find anything.
Cheers Joe

Hi Joe
Shocks or coilovers from Turbo models will fit on yours without the problem, maybe will need to change the top mounts, but hopefully someone will correct me if needs to changed or not
Generally STi(Pink/red) shocks are better than standard unit on WRX or Non-Turbo
About the second option you can have look for KYB shocks with lowering springs,we are run before Pi springs, which will lower around 40-45mm

Thanks for the quick reply. If you're saying STi shocks are red/pink, Im not sure the set Ive found are from an STi then, because they are just all black.
I was hoping to go for coilovers, until I saw the price on them.. £600+ ouch.

I put WRX springs onto my sport a few years ago and the difference was more than noticeable
Made it much stiffer and a lot more fun, just left the shocks alone tbh and they were fine. It lowered it enough to be noticeable and the wheels filled the arches better

Hi Joe
Some STi are red/pink,usually they're JDM or from P1 etc, which are better units and cost little bit more
Looking like those

Now about the KYB,they're OE Replacements like for STi or WRX,with right springs they're good
Here is link on those KYB
