The really cheap ebay ones are not a good option, they don't last too well but you get what you pay for I guess.
The other option is to keep an eye on eBay and try to pick up a bargain. I managed to get a set of HotBits DT1 coilovers from Scooby Clinic for a lot less than the RRP of £950!

It depends what they're to be used for but ultimately a good set of coilovers are better than a good set of shocks and springs for track use etc. Everyday road use then shocks/springs are fine, unless you want the car lower which you probably do...

I want the car lower but not chavy low, I'm a mature owner an I still need a usable family car, the rears are knocking so its ready for a freshen up.

Scooby world sell kyb at roughly £200 for fronts an rears per pair.

i liked eibahcs myself, have a look at what handeling packs there arem i use scoobyclinic for all my stuff and abck in the day (going back a few years nwo lol) they did kyb, springs, roll bar and full geom as a pack.
