Default Knock Knock Knock

Hi Guys,

i have a knocking noise which happens when i go over un-even ground - its hard to elaborate on it to be honest. seems to drive fine no pulling to either side just if i go over bumps in the road ... stop strips etc you can hear it ... ill try and get a video up to see if you can hear it. only happens down the drivers side. i have BC coilovers that helps

Thanks

Mine was more like a "clunk" sound rather than knocking sound. I have lubricate the drop links and the sway bar bushings. No help. I then lubricate the front sway bar bushing brackets with motor oil and no more sound. However sound came back around 2 months later and I lubricate the sway bar bushing bracket, clunking sound gone again. I tried lubricate the bracket with grease but no help. Oil seems to cure it.
Hope this helps.

The oil could be causing the rubber mounts to swell taking up any free play. Sounds like the ARB mount rubbers need replacing.

If you having the similiar sound that I had which was a clunking type of noise on the drivers side then it would probably be the ALK. It took ages to diagnose as we thought it was coming from the bc coilover.

Basically the ALK (drivers side) had to be removed and regreased and a new washer (outta end) put on. That was the cause of the cluncking noise. I had only had the ALK on for a year before it starting making noise. They should never go round and 99% of owners will never have any problems but I was part of the 1%.

I hope this helps.

My ARB mount is poly bush (2 new sets) and have been well lubricated with grease. I have use anti lift kit, it still clunk, swap back to orignal, still clunk till I lube the sway bar mount bracket with oil.
I had this clunk noise before and after coil over. I did spend lot of time tightening and here and there and glad to know the miracle of a drop of oil cures it.
Hope this helps and good luck.
