Default WRX Blobeye - what drop? 30mm or 50mm?

Hey all,

Just recently got a 2005 Blue Subura Impreza WRX Blobeye...

really need to get it lowered!!! considering a few options, but mainly getting some springs...was looking at Tein 30mm or 50mm?

what springs do you use?

does anyone have any photos with this set up?

I'm going to go for 18" alloys too, so your thoughts on setup would be appreciated....deciding on colour of alloys too (black or white!!!)

Cheers

You need to be careful with lowering, the Impreza doesn't like it

Anything more than an inch and you can easily find yourself in trouble. I know you want to reduce the ugly wheel arch gap, but really, don't over-lower, which the Tein's will do and spoil your handling

STi springs will lower a bit over std WRX...

I dropped mine 50mm, reset the geometry (added adjustable top mounts at the front and adjustable rear arms as well as a roll centre kit) and it handles like a dream.

As standard there isn't much adjustment that you can do, especially at the rear.

The gap has gone too

I have Tein springs on mine and it handles well IMHO.
Thinking of switching to coilovers as my rear shocks are knocking, so springs may be up for sale soon....

I've got some springs for sale at £20 per corner + delivery. They are from an STI as I'm upgrading to Eibach's

I have a 03 Silver Blobeye Wagon running BC's all round and lowered 40mm.
It also has a full Whiteline kit too.
I think it looks good & it seems to handle pretty well but, I bought it like this so I can't say just how different it is to standard!
I've failed dismally to attach an image here (again) but, there are pics in the Garage section if you want to take a look.

Can I just ask would fitting STI front springs to a blobeye wrx lower it some but not damage the ride comfort? ( what there is of it!) don't mind the gap in the rear arch as much as the front.

i asume you mean fitting all 4 chap not just the front ones. My blob wrx was bought with sti springs on and it is a bit harder ride than my old wrx bug, but not overly firm, i love it my missis not so.
I am not to sure if it lowers the car, but the gap from tyre to arch was fairly large so as far as i can see there aint much in it. i fitted 18's which looked much better.

Yes front and rear I mean. The gap has only just started to bother me so much but as its my daily driver I'm not keen on any harder of a ride. Have to have a look about. Thanks pal
