Default Rear shocks needs replacing .. help!!

Hey

Just took the car for its first service with Rich @ FB ... he did a fantastic job but highlighted a knocking sound from the rear shocks

He recommended I order the following as this is a common problem in Subaru Impreza's

KYB Shocks

2x Eibach camber bolts

My question is which KYB shocks do I need? Ultra golds or?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

They don't fit on the hawkeye, I ve got the same problem, you can only get em direct from Subaru, and then it's cheaper to get a set of coil overs ,

may be worth getting in touch with camskill first buddy, i've just replaced my rears on my 56 wrx with KYB ultra sr's from them. I didn't want coilovers for everyday use not to mention the expense.

As far as i'm aware my wrx uses the same inverted type rear setup as your sti. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to sort you out though.

send them your chassis no and they can advise which of their shocks fit, mine came to 235.00 in total. so not that dear..

Problem is he have 5X114.3 and KYB SR are not available for 5X114.3,all WRX have PCD 5X100 and 05 STI onwards have 5X114.3

From dealer new shocks will cost like new coilovers, which will be harder for everyday use,but still are manageable for day to day driving, just depends with which one he will go

Yeh thats the set am going for, I ve heard a lot of good things about bc,s, I had a set ast,s on mine last year but had loads of top mount problems,if your worried about the ride firmness , they do a 4/5 kg spring rate which is suppose to be better than oem springs for comfort.

FYI - you'll get a much harder ride from BC's than OEM shocks.
I had BC's with 5/4 springs on my old WRX and it was significantly less comfortable than the OEM shocks and Prodrive spring setup.

I have the same issue with my blob STI widetrack, and am looking at alternative coilovers.
Scoobyclinic recommended me the Racing Logics. Apparently one of their customers found the difference between his Racing Logics and a set of BC's he fitted whilst the logics were being serviced was amazing - thought the BC's were far more bouncy and annoying. Room for thought...I'm still researching lol.
