Default Lowering my WRX Blobeye - HELP

Hey gang, i'm considering having my WRX lowered and want to know the cheapest way of doing it and how. I know someone who is selling some prodrive springs (could i just get these and simply fit them or would I need to upgrade anything else?). Any advice/help would be appreciated.

If it helps i'm running 18inch alloys too.

Cheapest way is with lowering springs, but be very careful not to over lower. Usually ~1" is about all the Impreza can easily take. After that you need compensations for the 'anti-handling' the lowering introduces

Prodrive springs are usually OK - fit 'em, get a geo set-up and you're good to go

Eibach's would be my recommendation too

(kept your wagon Malc?)

The Tein S-Tech springs will over-lower your car, and I would keep away from them

Got them on my 06 WRX and they are great. So long as you have all the geo setup after correctly they are fine. Ride no worse than standard, no more bumpy or cashy but handling massively improved. Turn in feels much better. Wouldnt have said they were too low personally.

Camskill (or anyone else for that matter, except a dealer) don't sell the OE monotubed KYB's but the aftermarket dual tubed KYB damper - quite a bit cheaper

Cheers, I don't know much about these but may need to replace mine.
On this page:
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m10b0s2662...ion_-_Shockers
They show Subaru OE (monotubed?) ones at £400 and then the KYB standard replacements(dual tubed?) at £170 a pair. So I guess everyone goes for the cheaper ones?

400 is more than a dealer

Here's the price (and part numbers) for a set of late V5/6 classic struts. Although classic the front's are the same for new age so should be same price

Yep still got it. Just keeps getting better and better Such a great engine the ET 2.1. Keep getting tempted by other things but still love the element of surprise a 350BHP standard looking Wagon gives to the unsuspecting (one day I'll grow up)

Considering that you have WRX, the best option would be to fit springs with spring rates adjusted to stock WRX shocks. WRX and STi doesn't have the same shocks and springs are also different - harsher ones on STi.
So, I wouldn't fit some springs on WRX which are made BOTH for STi and WRX, like Eibach Pro-Kit E10-77-002-06-22. These would not be optimal setup with your Excel-G shocks on WRX, however they fits.

The best would be to get springs which are especially made for WRX shocks with optimal spring rates, which are Prodrive (blue ones), MachV or EPIC springs.

still lurking around then malc

I've got teins on my blob and they have been great over the last 3 years they have been fitted, slight knocking from a rear shock but that has only just started and I have now covered 57K so was fairly inevitable anyway. They give a good stance and handle nicely too.

Here's the dish on S-Techs. I had them fitted on a scooby I bought and they were were dreadful. Biggest thing was crashing on the bump stops making spirited progress impossible. Bump steer was the other
