drop links

My dealer says my drop links are worn and will need replacing soon.
Firstly - what are drop links? Are they the bits that connect to the roll bars?
Secondly - how much should replacement cost?
Car is UK MY98 4 door with 56k on clock.

Doc yes they are exactly that.It would be a good time to replace them with solid drop links(ie from Scoobymania etc) they are made from more solid stuff so are meant to improve handling a bit.

The red set (for the rear) cost $130 according to the web site and the straight ones (for the front) cost $100. Combination price is $210 (according to the web site).
If they come back to me, I'll get them to give me a quote for 25 sets.

$210 converts to £146.14. Assuming they get stopped at customs add 17.5% (probably 20% after tomorrow ) So we are talking £171.71 plus shipping. So about the same as the stock subaru ones.

Surely we should be buying MRT stuff from scoobymania or townend as UK dealers.
Probably cheaper that way, and more likely possible. MRT have UK delears so that they dont have to mess around with such thnigs.

Try www.mrtrally.com.au/shop
If its cheaper to buy direct from Australia (they do ship) why should I buy from a uk reseller? Admittedly the shipping charges may account for the difference. I haven't investigated yet. I'm sure scoobymania's price is fair but you should always look around.

Spender,
I agree with you but when I've said this in the past, people have said to me things like "why does it matter what it looks like if it works and is out of sight". Of course they're right but you never want to put ugly parts on your car if you can help it...
On the buying from MRT front, I don't think they will supply the UK direct anymore but when they did, it would take months to come (if at all), and when it did come, it was often the wrong part, or was damaged upon arrival. Another problem seemed to be taking payment when the part was ordered but nothing actually turned up. I would gladly buy MRT parts from PS/TE/SM over MRT direct, even if it was a little more

Try here:
http://www.townendgarage.co.uk/motorsportparts.asp
They supply MRT front and rear drop links for £36 + VAT respectively. No I don't work there, have never even spoken to them, but will be doing so cause I'd like some too..

That's the rear sway bar links yeh ? Which attach to the end of the ARB and somewhere on the hub ? With two bushes? Reason I ask is because I've never seen any on the front of the car.....yet town end garage seem to be selling them !
