Question One high corner - shock problem?

Arrrgghhh! Went out to my car this afternoon and noticed that the offside rear was high (probably 20-30mm high!) compared with the other 3 corners. Had a look underneath and everything seeemed ok, but I'm a bit worried as I only replaced the shocks and springs to lower it 3 months ago!

Could the shock have gone? It doesn't seem bouncy on the rear.

FYI I fitted Apex springs (40mm lowering) and KYB shocks (not the adjustable ones) and it's on a Bug wagon. The day after my mate and I fitted the suspension, Len at Subaru 4 You took it all off and fitted it properly so I'm sure fitment isn't the problem.

TIA

Ian

If the shock has gone, surely it would be lower.

ive seen this once it was when the spring came out of the top hat/top mount and made the car go higher as the full length of the shock could be exceded.

Unless the shock absorber has seized, it's the spring that controls the ride height.
As above, if the spring has somehow become dislodged? But you say it looks ok underneath so, it looks like the shock has seized or locked in it's rebound position.
