Odd noise at the rear - drums perhaps?
I've a MY99 Sport and am trying to track down a noise.
Have recently changed the shocks and springs all around, but currently getting a squeak from the rear somewhere.
Symptons are:
Seems to occur at lowish (walking pace) or just if starting to pull away as I am letting clutch in.
Sounds almost a chirp as much as a squeak and will do it a few times until moving but not all the time.
Have WD40’d the rear ARB drop links and poly bushes and it still happens.
Wondering if it could be within the rear drums, as I can make a similar sound if I operate the handbrake (though that could be a red herring).
If I sit in the drivers seat with the engine turned off, and rock my bodyweight back against the seat I can get a similar squeak from the rear of the car too.
