Default where to buy new strut top mounts

as above. ive got a 93 wrx. have drivers spring twisting in the top cup. presume its the top bearing or cup worn. ive bought new dampers springs and now id like the lot for the top. front and rear.

im not looking for adjustable. standard new top mounts, bearings and spring cups is what im after

where can i get these? dont want any of the "ebay cheese".

cheers

Porly fitted springs can cause this, either by not being seated properly in the cup or the cup being twisted.

And what was the bearing condition like when they were apart?

Is the thin spacer between top spring cup and topmount, I fixed a car where that had been lost so the seat cup fouled the top mount...

i will have to double check on that. the bearing had no play off the car and span round nice. once on the car even still on jacks the spring is trying to twist and isnt happy.

any chance of picture what should be in the top mount?

The Whiteline 'group n', rubber off-set ones are about £130 for a set of 2. For road use I think these are better than the spherical bearing topmounts that a lot of people have with their coil overs. Less noise, longer lasting and still a fair bit extra caster.

Extra caster is great on a road car as well. It calms the car down on the straights, nicer turn-in and more front end grip.

Between the tophat and the top spring cup you should have a large washer, quite thick, and slightly cupped to follow the top surface of the spring cup.

Part no4 on Front shock absorber, Subaru FORESTER ? Subaru parts catalog I know that's foz - that's what my shortcut is to, but its the same part.

It has the same profile as the spring cup, and should sit snug on top. It has no flat side though, one is convex, one concave, the concave side sits on and matches the convex top of the spring cup.

your a star thanks for taking the time for that^^

only woe is thats how ive fit them. im considering that the 3 yr od hks springs are or hav gone faulty. or the rubber hat on top of the spring is assisting it to turn?
