up rated rear anti roll bar is the best pound for pound mod you can do just dont go to thick though, i sugest 22mm it worked superb on my 06 STI PPP, CHEERS STEVE.

eyup mate

as iv heard.. best set up on a classic is 24mm rear on middle with uprated droplinks of course, and 22mm front, (not sure what setting + with drop links again) and steering rack bushes

the thicker bars are more fast road/track orientated...for a spotier drive!

What kind of tyre is currently fitted??
The tyres are the last point of contact.
Even a fully kitted car (ARB/bushes,Braces etc.) will be let down by the wrong tyre, even up to the point a standard car with good tyres would give it a run for it's money.

The Howden mafia stike again.

Second the advice given, a thicker bar suits a smoother driver, I have a 22mm rear bar on the stiffest setting and I can't get oversteer anymore due to swapping struts for coilovers.

So I need a 24 mm bar now. And some driver tuition....

LOL

Fair weather, fat wallet = Toyo R888's these are astonishing in the dry, noisy and very soft, dead in 6K miles !

Bridgestone RE-070 nearly as grippy, harder, but tram-line a bit....

Mine's a New-Age so can't advise on sizes.

HTH

Yea. soon as i got rid of my crappy kumoh on the front and put 2 gsd3's on, the improvement was massive.

Ive just done ALK on its own, and im not that impressed with the results. Sure its slightly less understeery. but for 140 nicker, i dont think its worth it..

Everyone goes ARB it seems. Which ive yet to do...

Are droplinks really worth it? They seem silly expensive. Can you actually notice a difference bt chaning the DL?

A "good" driver is able to feel the difference if you ONLY change the D-L's with a std ARB.

IMHO

The std. ones are supposed to flex to reduce NVH, as it is a road car, we the enthusiasts will make do with more Noise, Vibration & Harshness in the search for grip.

ive got a perrin 22m anti roll bar.. with standard front roll bar.. is this a bit extreme? or would i be ok with it on the soft setting? it has rear stout mounts and whiteline droplinks with it too.. do i really need to get a 22mm front bar to level it out..

No I run a 22mm bar on the stiffest setting, and on track I could ( just ! ) get her sliding.

For the road 22mm F & R is fine, a really smooth driver can use a 24mm rear bar.

On track mine will slide flat chat in third gear, and I actually feel like I'm driving it properly...

But not on the road, I'm a wuss !

dunx

P.S. A front bar will give more overall grip but will reduce the oversteer created by the rear bar.

sorry dunx was a typo in there, its a perrin 25mm rear anti roll bar .. not 22 lol , will the 25mm be ok on its own or extreme?

Extreme FTW !

I run the Perrin bar on 25mm hard which is 27mm but the front I run 22mm on hard which is 23mm IIRC.

I ran the rear on it's own for a while and it was fine, BUT i have a DCCD-A to make sure it stays pointing forward

You would do well to do the front aswell, it's more than just oversteer/understeer, there is also the reduction in body roll and general sure footing the the car gets front uprated front and rear ARB's.

It's likely to be fine... as stated watch out for the slippery season.

before you fit anything have a read here:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1701850
this north american forum is great for info, generally speaking handling needs to considered as a whole, simply fitting a thick ARB may not be the best option, sure it will tame the understeer but your very likely to induce snap oversteer which isn't so good, decide exactly what you want from the car and then work out how to achieve this.
