I have the inverted version on my classic, with 5/4 springs.

on the rebound adjustment, i have tried these settings

fully unwound (anti clockwise) the woundin 5 clicks, when driving on motorway, when sitting in the back, the car feels like it is made of jelly, very bouncy, wobbly ride.

then i fully tightened (clockwise) and turned back 5 clicks, jelly/bouncy ride has gone, but felt like i could feel all the bumps etc in the road.

now i have settled on 15 clicks from fully wound in, and this feels better so far.

to the question is, what does the rebound actually do? and how should it be set up for road driving, and any other info welcome..

It makes the holes that the oil passes through smaller, so more restrictive.

so if it is undone to much, the oil will flow through to fast, giving the bounck/jelly ride?

The spring would be less damped yes.
