Question How do you know your suspension is tired?

And what's a good replacement? Tein Coilovers/top mounts? W.H.Y.?

Car is a 98 UK with about 90,000 on the clock.

Mine showed up when the re-map was done, the car lurched as if on three wheels....

Just tired but supple STI shocks...

Went for Tein SS and they are very harsh. IMHO

P.S. Would have offered a test drive, but not needed now !

Default Wild Noise from Rear Suspension !!

I am new to this folks - be gentle ! Bought my first WRX (wagon) 55 plate 18K miles with PPP aboout 4 months ago. Anyways - heard a knocking noise form the N/S rear and assumed it was the shock. Last night it sounded like the fookn exhaust was dragging along the ground !!! Real loud banging like 2 tin cans being hit against each other !?? Anyways - in short - it's in the garage and am awaiting the jury to come back with the verdict...... any suggestions? Do I replace the rear shocks or just go the full hog and get coilovers? If so what type do you suggest?

cheers

I am getting a bouncing sensation from the front every now and then. Its like the car should bounce/dampen once to absorb a bump but the shock wave as it were continues and the front bounces up and down a few times before things settle. Have only noticed a few times so far. Is this worn shocks?

Had bust springs and bust roll bar before so know what they feel like. But never bust shocks so no idea what to look/feel for.

Again pros and cons of coilovers over OE stuff with regard to cost as well?

Thanks
Steve

Dunx,

Did you ever get around to raising the rear ride height and trying a larger differential front to rear in terms of damper stiffness?

The thing about coilovers is that it's all about the set up and you have to get that to suit you.

IMHO Teins suggested ride height is too low at the rear for UK rough roads, sort that then run 11(f) 16 (r) for comfort and it's transformed.
