clunk noise from the n/s rear suspension
Hi I'm to be getting the clunk noise from the n/s rear suspension on my 1999 Impreza Sport. Removed everthing loose in there and tightened the jack and spare wheel to try to ensure it's not them, and still seems to occur so guessing now it's suspension related.
Doesn't seem to happen all the time, over ****ty badly repaired road surfaces, and when turning at lowish speeds mostly. Only change from standard is a the rear ARB setup from a turbo as the Sports didn't come with one for some strange reason.
Guessing it may be a top mount from some of the other threads. If it does turn out to be that, can the rear top mounts be changed just by unbolting the strut from the bodyshell and dropping the suspension down, or do you have to remove the strut from the car to do it

You have to remove the strut from the car as the top mount retains the spring on the strut, once out you'll probably need spring compressors to enable you to remove and fit the new strut top (not all Subaru's need compressors, but I suspect yours will).
