STi shocks to replace WRX ones ??
HI all ,
What would be involved in changing my standard MY01 WRX (BUGEYE) shocks to the STi versions , i already have the prodrive spring set up ,
Is this a straight swop or are there differences in the shocks or top mounts ??
Any help / advice appreciated before i start taking the car to bits ,
cheers .

I have changed from standard 05wrx springs/shocks to sti 04 prodrive springs and shocks. as the 05 wrx has the new inverted shock like the 03onward sti they were a straight swap, so i would think if from the same MY they should be straight fit.
i find them a bit harsh at times, probarbly because they are designed for the heavier sti. (on 18"s)
The handling is much better than standard. if i were to do this again i would just put wrx prodrive springs on.
I would go for ARB, ALK, Drop links etc before doing this as you already have the prodrive springs.

Hmmm, now i am confused ,
It all sounded so simple , tried to fit STi shocks that were from an MY02 Sti but it seems the front shocks are different to the wrx ones in the length between the spring plate and the lower mounting bolts , the STi ones being longer , also no bracket for the ABS sensor wiring , not that that matters much , rears fitted fine tho , so after a lot of blue air the standard WRX shocks have been refitted !
Does anyone have the part numbers for the STi shocks so i can check mine ?
Or any other help appreciated , thanks .
