Question Sharpen up steering?

Hi, fitted KYB agx's to my car with Eibach springs, whiteline rear anti roll bar and rear drop links, whiteline anti lift kit and powerflex front anti roll bar bushes. This has transformed the car substantially but the steering is not as sharp as i would like. What can i do to improve the steering and turn in?
I have had a 4 wheel alighnment carried out as well.
Many thanks.

What tyres are you running?

I've always found this makes a huge difference to steering sharpness as well as the pressures they run at.

Brand new Proxies on the front. Not sure of the pressure, whatever the garage put in when they fitted them.

Front ARB and drop links will make it more direct.
Could try camber bolts and a more extreme geometry set up.
Also check your settings on your KYBs.

I have some drop links for the front. The adjusable ball joint ones, but when i went to get it aligned i asked them to fit them and they couldnt fit them. They were at an angle and not straight down.
Demon tweeks supplied the drop links and they say they are the correct ones(96 STI)

The settings on the shocks are 2 at the front and 4 at the rear.

Shocks are set about right, possibly abit to soft on the rear. The front droplinks should be straight, but I would still change the front arb. Are you running standard geometry?

Standard geometry set up.
I thought an uprated front ARB will induce understeer?

That is true.
Uprate front and back to 22mm front, 24 rear.

The Whiteline rose end front links are a bit fiddly to fit as the dust seals are hard to keep in place, but do fit. (I have them)

Graham.

Bugger, ive just bought a 22mm rear! If i'd of known i would have gone for the thicker one.

Will using the end holes make any differance?

Do the links make any differance?

In addition to all the measures above would suggest ensuring that the pressure is at the recommended setting. I've often found the pressures that fitting stations set new tyres at can be quite a bit out which makes a huge difference, particularly as Scoobs are sensitive to tyre pressures.

Jazzt:
A stock front/22mm rear will work fine, it is the rating between front and rear that matters.
The 22/24 means less roll at higher corner speeds.

You can place the rear bar in the 'stiffest rate' hole and you will feel a difference in the handling of the car.
It will be down to your personal tastes in the end.

Will varying the hole position on the rear bar do anything to the turn in or understeer on the front?

P.S 911, are we a bit sad to be on the forum at this time? (my excuse is that i am at work)!

I've always found that 34 PSI front and 33 PSI rear works well compared to the handbook recommended 33 Front and 32 Back, although the difference between what I run at and recommended could be down to pressure gauge inaccuracy.

I found just new uprated front ARB droplink bushes and a strut brace (fitted at TSL) made a big difference to my RB5 (already had the TSL fast road geometry) - got really sharp turn-in now, feels great!

I'm at work too!
If there arn't too many emails from around the globe I use the time on Snet and others floating about till 7.45 when the lazy ones come to work.

The phrase The Early Bird get the Worm has always rung true with me.
