Is it worth getting the geometry done on standard STi suspension?

Cheers

Yes. Mine was significantly out as it came from the factory. Forget the exact numbers but something like front left camber -1deg, front right -0.1deg.

do they align it how it should be ? or is there a better set of settings for the standard STi suspension? and is alignment the same as geometry?

Depends where you take it mate. A specialist will use settings that might be different that the ones Subaru recomends to get rid of any understeer etc, but even setting it back to the correct factory settings will help. Subarus have been known to be well out on delivery...

I'm off to Powerstation tomorrow afternoon I know it's out because of the tyre wear. I'll let you know the differance, if any.

Dynamix. your posts convinced me to have it done, so I'll love you OR hate you by this time tomorrow

It's worth getting done on any car - even my lowly Cavalier weekday car (although I'd never justify paying for it for that car ). Just had the full works done to my 98 STi at Elite in Rainham. They also fitted a camber bolt to one side of the rear so that the car could be fully 'symmetrical' if you know what I mean (rear has no camber adjustment as standard). On the same day I had a Whiteline anti lift kit fitted. The car is now a completely different animal altogether! In fact, it's beyond recognition.

Back from powerstation (nice guys, andy and bloke on reception, can't remember his name) the result sheet showed no big adjusments needed but the tollerances were at either end of the scale in some instances so they were generaly tightend up, hence no big fantastic difference, but it just feels that little bit more composed on the motorway, feels like a new car again and the steering wheel is now straight for the first time. cost £82 but it was worth £42 for the improvement and £40 to know its pointing in the right direction

PS hi to the chap having his spec d serviced, did'nt get his name either
