Default Shocks leaking advice please....

Ok I know nothing about the shocks on a car, especially mine it seems.
The shocks at the front are leaking so im told and so i need new ones .
I dont want to lower my car at all so I thought just buy standard subaru product, then I wondered if I could get uprated aftermarket shocks of better quality.
So anyone know if I can get the above at a reasonable price, something to improve the car but not lower it?

Hi mate

I had a duff shock on the rear of my 01 wrx a few weeks ago. It was actually cheaper for me to get an entire aftermarket Tein kit including Springs and dampers than it was to get 2 OE Subaru shocks.....The car has a much better stance now and the road holding and turn in on cornering is just fantastic...welll worth every penny.
Your choice mind you...????

I did wonder if the standard ones would be just as expensive. Where did you get the tein ones from??

I got them from a local specialist here in Scotland mate.....but you can get them at most aftermarket scooby specialists......the set up I went for was the Tein Basic Damper Kit.....with standard Subaru geometry settings...could have had it with prodrive settings but was advised that it may increase tyre wear....only put new GS-D3's on so wasnt going to risk that...
cheers
