torque steer problem

torque steer problem
seem to have an issue when going at a fixed speed say 70 and then either accelerating or coming of throttle, basically pulling 1 way or the other.
is this likely to be wishbone bushes on there way out or just an alignment problem. if bushes does 1 set get more abuse than the others ?
i want to get the alignement done anyway as im fitting new tyres but i dont see the point of getting it done and then finding it needs doing again after replacing bushes...

You should not normally have this issue.
Something is loose or worn/perrished.
My Sti v3 has 407 bhp and 360 lbft and is arrow straight when on/off the throttle at racing speeds/loadings.
Get the suspension checked before alignment by someone who knows the cars, ie Powerstation.

i work about 1 minute away from powerstation and intend on getting a full alignment from them, espacially as have new tyres fitted.
thing is i want to make sure its ok before taking it for alignment, as i dont like spending money on something i can do myself.
main question is do i just take it to them, or do i replace the bushes as im guessing thats whats worn on a 125k mile car...

There is every chance that the bushes are done for.
I fitted full polybush sets to mine so it is 'hard core', but i think you will find that changing a few bushes (easy to do, just long hard work) will change things.
Cutting the old ones out is easy, and fitting polybushes is very easy, but fitting new rubber bushes will need a power press to re assemble.
I think I woulds drop it down to PStation and let Curtis/Andy lever at the suspension, bit like an MoT, and then you can take it from there.
Now is the time to do it all.
Very DIY if you are 3 spanner rating or more.!

yeah im quite capable with a spanner
the thought of fitting new rubber bushes is not great, been there done that so tempted to go for poly front bushes just for ease really, and possible ALK as that would probably be of benefit and half the job anyway...
