Default Prodrive springs on an '06 STi anyone?

Mate of mine is feeling his 06 STi is a bit twitchy & unsettled on bends and just not as stable as his previous WRX which had Prodrive springs. Maybe down to getting used to the DCCD?, or has anyone had Prodrive springs fitted to their '06, did it make much of a difference to the handling?

I know it is supposed to be checked as part of the PDI, but judging on what I know of the selling dealer, they probably didn't bother .. he's going to get it checked at the first service, it also has a vibration which may be down to wheel balance as he has fitted new wheels & tyres, likely they are not balanced quite right although may be geom I guess..

The 06 STI springs are the same as the 04/05 (and I assume ones before) - I had this confirmed from Mike Wood at Prodrive - I had them fitted by prior to delivery on my 06 STi. They took some miles to drop a bit and you can see the lowering.

I cant compare to the original - sorry.

Having spoken to a couple of different dealerships, there is a bit of a quirk with the 06. I called it a problem, with it being so twitchy. They said it was a characteristic of the car. I was also told that there had been a few dealerships that had enquired, as to this un-nerving characteristic.
Read into it what you want, but I noticed it straight away.

totally disagree with this - mine is solid as a rock....but only after I took it to TSL to have the geometry set up correctly.

my MY06 had prodrive springs fitted by supplying dealer and to be honest even though they are supposed to check the wheel alignment as part of the pdi, they might as well not bothered !!! - one fron was running negative camber and the other POSITIVE CAMBER - wtf ??? it was equally erratic with Toe-in etc.

after the geometry was set up, it is a dream.

I think the dealer are fobbing you off tbh.
