can i get stiffer suspention with out lowering suspention?
the thing is i want sports suspension, probabily coilovers.
but cant realy aford to lower suspension, if any thing i need to raise it.
i live in the country, and in the wet the tractors make havok of the dirt tracks on the farm, even when i drive realy slowly mu front bumper scrapes.
but this is not only in the country when i go to my cousins in oxford i have more than once smaked those sleepin' pigs. i read an article a few years ago on the vr4 website about riveting steel plates to the botom of the bumper. but i think the only answer would be higher suspension. any how rally cars clock over a tonne when going across dirt tracks as bad as the one on the farm. what suspension do they use? can a simple little chav like me aford it?

IMHO:
For a nice road car with a huge improvement to the chassis, fit a Whiteline 22mm rear antiroll bar on 'middle hole setting'.
Fit Sti suspension off a Version 3 or younger (I assume your car is a Classic)
Get the suspension well aligned by someone who knows what they are really doing.
Suggest you contact Powerstation , sponsor of this thread for all the above.
In my opinion brace bars do little for the car, spend the $$$ on the above.
Graham.

For a rally car you'd buy the inserts dampers and springs seperately. That way you get exactly what you need. My personal plan is to use bilstein tarmac gear, but if you like hammering over real rough stuff gravel suspension is way stiffer than standard with enough travel to deal with anything, and they're built to take a hammering. The ride height is completely adjustable, and if it's too stiff for you just swap the springs for lighter ones. They cost hardly anything.
Trouble is as you increase the ride height you start to get body roll regardless of how stiff it's set up.
As an example my 205 on forest set up handles way better on the road than my impreza (wet or dry), just as long as you don't mind spitting out fillings once in a while.

Forgot to mention, full billies would probably be on the sore end of 2k, of you could go for the likes of proflex which last time i saw were about 1500 per corner of the top of my head.
Not a cheap option either way
