Views on Cusco, Tein, and Apexi coil overs
Hi, thinking of maybe getting some coil overs for my classic turbo and wanted peoples views on Cusco, Tein, and Apexi coil overs that you have fitted to your car. The car is only used on the road and i try to avoid streets with speed bumps and potholes. My only concern is how low to drop the car.
Cheers for any views in advance.

i have got many view,s on coilover,s if you do go down the road make sure you have them fitted by people who really know, about spring rate,s adjusting damper,s lowering well any lower than say an eibach spring 30mm id leave it at that, but some may say or tell you different i too have just gone down the road of coilover,s and it has been or should isay it,s a headache getting them really right some guy,s on here have been very helpful, now i know a little more i know what to do but in reality i would prob stay with spring,s whiteline kit and a real good geometry set up there,s my pennie,s worth

Nothing wrong with the Jap stuff. Fitted my Tein Type HA myself (no experience) and the handling is awesome. Mine is set very low (ie cant get a trolley jack under front or back ). On hard setting it is VERY, VERY, VERY hard but on a softer setting it is absolutely fine.

I,ve got Ledas on my Impreza and the range of adjustment is quite large. So it can be set softer than my previous STi5 set up or much much harder....
My Friend has Teins on his track GTi-R and these have firmer springs than the Ledas but they aren,t too bad for road use on the softer settings.
Both set-ups are far far better than say OEM dampers and lowering springs (maybe excluding Eibach). This type of setup just seems to crash and bang and isn't as compiant as a well set up coilover.... producing a worse ride.

Sorry but I also have to disagree with top banana. I have Tein HA's on my 02 STi and they are perfectly OK for normal street use. They are 16 way adjustable and I have mine set to 8 from hard on the front and 12 from hard on the back. Around town and on B roads its a joy to drive. The only time I have noticed how hard it can be is on rough motoways at speed or when you hit something like a bridge suspension joint.
As for how high or low, it really would depend on personal preference as the spring rate doesnt change with the height, but I guess you have to take into account the spring compressing when you are driving around a hairpin or something similar and the wheel coming into contact with the guard if you have them set VERY low.

personally I would wait to see what scoobysport's offering is like.
so far we only have marketing info to go on, but it looks very promising and they have addressed a lot of issues which make them very desirable to anyone seeking comfort and outright grip in one package.

you are going to be looking at around £1500 for the one way adjust and £2000 for the 3 way adjustable based on Simon's previous info.
They look a very good spec, but certainly at the higher end of the quality/price choice market. When they are released will be dependant on durability testing being completed.
