Default yr 2000 suspension and busehes questions.....

Guy's,
I have a year 200 Turbo, with Eibach springs, I'm getting a funny clonk when I go over speed bumps, but it's only recently started doing it, the springs have been on for ages. so it's not fitting related.
the milage is now on 42k, is it possible that the anti roll bar bushes are getting soft?? and is it worth changing them and all the rest to the powerflex ones??

The car gets mainly road use, but does visit the track occasionaly!!

Cheers.

Ron.

Ron, think carefully before you change ALL the suspension bushes. I have done all mine and the rear diff carrier ones, and the front end creeks/clonks all the time.

Change your roll bar and drop-link bushes first, and maybe stop there!

Cheers 911, thats pretty much what I thought may happen, I used to have Mini's that were as stiff as hell with all the bushes, didn't want that again!!

Check that there is no horizontal movement in the drop link bushes. One of my rears went and I got a clonk going over speed bumps. I just replaced both rears with Whiteline ones.

just today picked up solid rear links, and powerflex bushes for all the antiroll bar bits, not doing everything just yet, might end up that way though!!

I've now fitted the all the arb bushes, and have to say that it feels a lot tauter, i'll live with it for a while and see if the clonk still happens. i didn't find anything actually wrong with the standard ones though, so we'll see!!

Cheers for all comments!!
