Default Coilovers on a budget?

Looking for some advice guys.

I`m currently thinking about ways of improving the handling of the Scoob. I`d would love to be able to spend £1K+ on a set of coilovers but I can`t affort it.

Has ayone come across any coilovers in the £500-700 bracket that are good for fast road/occasional track day?

OR

Can someone recommend a decent suspension set up for the same money?

(P.s I`m aware of up rating rollbars etc and they too are on the list!!!!)

Chris.

Watch the Sale sections carefully on this snet, and you will find some real bargains, such as LEDA's for £700, thats half price.
Good luck, but you will find the roll bars/alignment/tyres and a few other (cheap) tricks will be faster than just the Coil-overs.(but I think you know that.)

911,

Cheers for the info mate. I`ve been looking but it always seems to be the rock hard stuff for track days that is coming up. Not what I`m after really.

I`ve noticed that there was a GB on KYB suspension struts and eibach springs. Can anyone involved in this GB comment on what they are like as this might be a good compramise for me?

Cheers.

coil overs are over rated for the street scoob

i wouldnt ever put them on my daily driver (again) !! (yes i made that mistake)

unless yours is a full spec track, race, rally scoob, i'd say you'll be just as well off with a GOOD strut/spring combo with a nice rear sway bar/end link/bushes combo and then add in some hardened Group N style Top mounts/tranny mounts/engine mounts.

Add all that and you'll be grinnin ear to ear

cheers

I paid $45 for my coil over springs and adjustable collars for a MY01 WRX, car was solid but didn't like big dips in the road was great for the pod and elvington , now gone back to eibachs

KYB Struts are excellent at about £65+vat each I think. Non adjustable though.

Then put some Whiteline springs on. Superb IMO. Had them on my Type R and perfect for everyday driver.
